The Citizens' Pact for South Eastern Europe, EXIT team and Mediumgroup
are inviting you to participate in the South East European Youth
Summit MOVE!
What is SEE Youth Summit MOVE!?
SEE Youth Summit - MOVE!- is an international
meeting of youth activists, organized for exchange of experiences
and ideas, initiation and development of cross border cooperation
and for creating a platform for regional approach to the youth policy.
The Summit MOVE! is organized by The Citizens' Pact for SEE, EXIT
team and Mediumgroup, during the EXIT 04 festival in Novi Sad, with
active involvment of The Citizens' Pact for SEE network members
from whole the region.
Why SEE Youth Summit MOVE!?
In the SEE region percentage of the youth is
drasticaly reduced in the last ten years. The percentage of the
young people planning to leave the country for good is from 20%
to 50%, depending on the country. For those that will stay there
is no clear (or any) national strategy or if there is one, implementation
is slowly developing. Unfortunately, young individuals are not showing
willingness for active involvement. Less than 25% of the young from
South Eastern Europe is included in any form of association (sports
clubs, cultural associations, student associations, NGO's). As for
involvement in political life, for instance in Serbia only 4% are
members of the political parties and more than 50% is not interested
or even have hostility toward parties.
We would like to change such a passive attitude regarding planning
of the own future. In our opinion, guidelines for the future must
be set up by those to whom this future belongs. That is the reason
we are launching the Summit MOVE! - Mobility, Openness, Vision,
Europe.
Aims of the Summit MOVE! are:
-To develop a platform for regional information flow and exchange
of experiences, combining several youth networks in the SEE region
-Improve cooperation of NGOs by youth and for youth and national
bodies for coordination and implementation of the youth policy.
-To raise attention in public regarding problems of young generation
in the SEE countries and the level of development and implementation
of national youth action plans.
Where and when will SEE Youth
Summit MOVE! happen?
The Summit MOVE! will be organized in Novi Sad
from 1st to 4th July, during the EXIT 04 festival. The Summit MOVE!
combines the traditional festival with the possibility for the articulation
of message sent by the youth from the SEE. EXIT is the greatest
music festival in the area of Southeast Europe. EXIT has been organized
on the beautiful and magical grounds of the Petrovaradin Fortress
in Novi Sad since the year 2001. During the four years of its existence,
EXIT Festival has been host to more than 700 000 visitors enjoying
the unique location where music and theatre performances, movie
screenings and academic programme are intertwined and simultaneous
on more than 20 locations. Around 8 000 foreign visitors from ex-Yugoslavia,
Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Holland,
USA and Canada come to the Festival each year. More than 200 journalists
from West Europe cover the event. The magazines Musik and Seven

to be visited by all means.
